Lockdown Learning Through MUSIC-CAN Welcome to the Jungle PowerPoint

Here is the third instalment of our FREE homeschooling Lockdown Learning through MUSIC-CAN rainforest resource. If you select the  video link below you will hear this week’s song Welcome to the Jungle  – which is all about the rainforest.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE (Rainforest Resource)

VERSE 1

I’ll tell you about big forests that get lots of rain
Like Amazon, Congo and Monteverde
These rainforests are made up of many, many layers
Now let me fill you in about some of its key players.

CHORUS 1

In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle – where the monkeys love a rumble
But the bees can’t afford to bumble – if they want to halt the crumble
Of the jungle – so let’s not grumble.

VERSE 2

The sunlit zone has sun and it has 100-foot trees
Next is the canopy – an umbrella made up of leaves
Then we have the understory
Which is found underneath the canopy

CHORUS 2

Protect the jungle
Without rainforest jungles – humanity would stumble
The world would start to tumble – so let’s not be too humble
Let’s all halt the crumble – of the rainforest jungle.

VERSE 3

Finally, the forest floor – which is dark, damp, and hot
But if you’re on the lookout for wildlife – the canopy is the spot.
Toucans, monkeys, and red-eyed frogs are some of the creatures you’ll see
And snakes, bats and anteaters hide by great Kapok trees.

CHORUS 1

In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle – where the monkeys love a rumble
But the bees can’t afford to bumble – if they want to halt the crumble
Of the jungle – so let’s not grumble.

VERSE 4

Rainforests give us oxygen – which we all need to breath
Medicines come from the plants there – which we all need to heal
We get many things from rainforests – like rubber, coffee, and tea
Bananas, sugar, and cocoa – which makes chocolate, yummy!

CHORUS 2

Protect the jungle
Without rainforest jungles – humanity would stumble
The world would start to tumble – so let’s not be too humble
Let’s all halt the crumble – of the rainforest jungle.

BRIDGE

Jungles absorb CO2 which keeps our climate stable
So, we must protect them by planting new tress – or doing whatever we’re able

VERSE 5

The rainforest is buzzing with animals and insects galore,
They make a concert of humming, thrumming, chirping, and much more
Some of the loudest sounds come from frogs, cicadas, and birds
And cheeky howler monkeys are the rowdiest you’ve ever heard.

CHORUS 1

In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle – where the monkeys love a rumble
But the bees can’t afford to bumble – if they want to halt the crumble
Of the jungle – so let’s not grumble.

CHORUS 2

Protect the jungle
Without rainforest jungles – humanity would stumble
The world would start to tumble – so let’s not be too humble
Let’s all halt the crumble – of the rainforest jungle.
Welcome to the jungle.

As promised, we are posting a FREE creative resource pack every week to help you with your homeschooling needs. There are 4 suitable activities for ALN, SEN, KS1 & KS2 suggested above in the PowerPoint link.

As stated previously – this is NOT a money making scheme – the sessions listed here are completely FREE. However, like many small businesses struggling during this pandemic, we do need to keep some income coming in to keep our business afloat, so would welcome any donations.
