About Our Past Projects
Forget-Me-Not has worked in partnership with pupils from Abercynon Primary School for two years running to present their version of Disney’s Lion King (summer term 2017) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Pupils had just half a term to learn the choreography, dialogue and complex songs, as well as designing the colourful set and props. These shows have been the schools first two full-scale performances and they did a fantastic job.
From 2013 to 2016, Forget-Me-Not worked with the pupils from Ysgol Hen Felin special school to adapt and develop well-known shows to perform for their Christmas concerts – Beauty and the Beast, Busy Malone and Grease is the Word.
These were all multilingual productions that provided a multitude of opportunities for high quality arts experiences. A truly inclusive model of delivery was developed over 4 years that seamlessly encompassed participants and the wider school community in the creation of multimedia clips, musical theatre performances & dance choreography. Professional quality DVDs are available for each production. These have been used as an awareness raising tools, together with a report with practical recommendations for inclusive arts practice in Wales within SEN.
Grease is the Word was made possible by funding from the Arts Council of Wales, the Big Lottery and the Welsh Government.
